The Replicarte Process for Making a Masterpiece
Buying a painting at Replicarte is like revisiting the past!
All works of art sold are painted using the same traditions honored by the most renowned artists, giving due importance to the elements of aesthetics, style, and technique.
Each oil painting at Replicarte is meticulously painted, brushstroke by brushstroke, opening with a bare canvas and closing with a genuine masterpiece!
STEP 1: Sketching the intended oil painting

The painting process begins with a sketch or outline of the painting before applying any oil paint to the canvas, maintaining the appropriate scale of the different shapes and figures that will constitute the completed oil painting.
Our artists use a variety of charcoal pencils specifically designed to execute the sketch layout.
STEP 2: Applying the initial layer of paint

At this point, our painter uses a moderately wide brush to spread the initial layer of paint onto the canvas.
The initial layer of oil paint or "undercoat" acts as the covering for the canvas's blank plaster surface. It also helps to "tone" the canvas.
In this painting process, our artist focuses on color for initial use, in the most distant background, and then gradually addresses the foreground elements, while constantly following the outline drawn on the canvas.
STEP 3: Painting the shapes

At this stage, our artist continues to paint the remaining section of the canvas with the oil paint base, while also engaging in painting the different forms and shapes that are vital ingredients of the painting.
Colors are meticulously mixed and skillfully applied to the canvas in contrasting hue intensities to achieve ideal depth, perspective, and the essence of color.
At this stage, the paint that has been applied so far must be dry before moving on to the next stage.
STEP 4: Adding textures

At this stage, our artist employs various artistic techniques to create texture in the painting, deliberating on the necessary consistency and depth of the oil paints that will adorn the oil painting with its exceptional character.
The artist performs the intricate task of adding texture to the oil painting through ingenious manipulation of various forms, artistic brushstrokes, and the fine application of paint.
STEP 5: Painting the artistic details

An oil painting cannot be transformed into a masterpiece without incorporating artistic details.
Every minute detail, such as shadows, color highlights, shading, and highlights are all fundamental elements of artistic details.
Any remaining details essential for a perfect finish of the oil painting are addressed at this time.
The artist meticulously examines the oil painting to ensure all final touches have been made.
STEP 6: The oil painting; a new masterpiece!

When the artist is satisfied with the finished oil painting, a senior experienced artist is called upon to closely examine the painting and offer their professional opinion before final approval.
Only then can this oil painting be considered a true masterpiece!
